Gauteng College of Nursing Application Requirements
For a student/applicant to be considered eligible to apply for admission into Gauteng College of Nursing, he/she has to meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen, who resides in the Gauteng Province.
- Must have obtained one of the following school leaving certificates: A Senior Certificate (Standard 10), a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12), or National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4
- The following subject criteria are required:
- Senior Certificate English HG D or SG C
- Biology HGD or SG C
- Mathematics HG D or SG C and an M score of 17
- Individuals who are already in the nursing profession (Nursing Auxiliary and Enrolled Nurses) and meet the entry requirements are also invited to apply.
Minimum Entry Requirements for Diploma in Nursing
whether or not you are accepted to study for a diploma in nursing depends on the performance of your Grade 12 final results. Applicants who are currently in grade 12 can apply with grade 11 final results. Performance should look like this, depending on the certificate you hold:

Application Requirements for National Vocational Certificate Applicants
All applicants applying to Gauteng College of Nursing Intake with a National Vocational Certificate hoping to enroll to study are first to meet the following admission criteria.
- 50% in English
- 50% in Mathematics
- 50% in Life Orientation
- 50% in Maths Literacy
- 60% of the SA Health Care System
- 60% in Public Health
- 60% in The Human Body and Mind
- 60% of Community Oriented Primary Care
What these percentiles mean is that applicants must have 50% in Fundamental Subjects which are ( English First Additional Language, Maths/Maths Literacy, and Life Orientation).
Also, applicants must have 60% in Vocational Subjects which are (SA Health Care System, Public Health, The Human Body and Mind, and Community Oriented Primary Care).

Completion of all processes during the recruitment and selection process does not guarantee final selection for the program. Once your application is successful, you will be asked to sign an agreement with the Department of Health
